About The Position

Our Procurement team is seeking a Procurement Purchaser to play a critical role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of high-quality materials. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role for an experienced buyer who thrives in fast-paced environments and values strong supplier relationships, operational rigor, and continuous improvement. You will serve as a key link between Schumacher and our vendor partners, owning purchasing execution, supplier performance, and cross-functional coordination across the organization. This is a hybrid role, based onsite three days per week at our NYC Corporate Headquarters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, marketing, business administration, or a related field (Ideally Preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day purchasing execution and assigned vendor relationships, ensuring seamless coordination between suppliers, internal teams, and supply chain partners.
  • Manage the full Purchase Order lifecycle, including PO creation, tracking, consolidation, and optimization for cost-effective shipping.
  • Monitor order progress and proactively address risks to timelines, cost, or service levels.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
  • Communicate production requirements, lead times, and service expectations clearly and consistently.
  • Own price discussions and commercial negotiations in partnership with procurement leadership.
  • Track vendor performance KPIs and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Analyze forecast and demand data to support alignment between supply and demand.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across vendor management and purchasing processes.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, planning, warehouse, finance, and procurement operations teams.
  • Support finance with invoice validation, discrepancies, and vendor statement reconciliation.
  • Respond to sales inquiries regarding availability, lead times, and order status.
