About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking to provide current contract labor teammates with the opportunity to join our 787 production teams working as an Product Acceptance Specialist , Le vel B and C in North Charleston, South Carolina on a variable shift . Your PHOP Leadership Endorsement Form will outline the specific requirements which qualifies you for a direct offer of employment. Team members will leverage their prior experience, and the knowledge gained from training and certifications to complete daily assigned tasks effectively. Individuals will be responsible for identifying their work locations on advanced airplanes, parts, and tooling by interpreting intricate drawings to accurately complete detailed work instructions. Attention to detail and procedure compliance is critical to identify all necessary hand tools, parts, and equipment required to ensure defect-free work. Requirements

  • Serving within a contract labor capacity as a Product Acceptance Specialist (JADC)
  • Successful completion of the PHOP program
  • Ability to work a variable shift as noted further below.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role such as flexion and extension (head bent down, head bent back), handling, kneeling, bending at the waist, reaching overhead, rotation of head/neck, standing, twisting at the waist and walking, climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), crawling, crouching (squatting).
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 10-35 pounds.
  • Ability to work with high-hazard chemicals.
  • Ability to complete and maintain Confined Space and Fall Protection certifications, as required.
  • Experience using software applications such as internet navigation, email, Microsoft Office Suite, and/or other specialized computer applications.
  • Experience following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications, in English.
  • Experience applying mathematical calculations.
  • Experience in a technical, or mechanical field performing work with basic hand, power, and/or pneumatic (air) tools.
  • Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or assembly processes and procedures.

  • Must successfully complete the new hire foundational training to obtain and maintain all required certifications.
  • Proficient use of a computer in a dynamic production environment.
  • Look up/read/comprehend electronic technical work instructions, drawings and/or specifications.
  • Wear appropriate protective clothing/equipment determined by the task performed.
  • Operate various mechanical lifts (e.g. ladders, tiger and snorkel lifts).
  • Use various hand tools and diagnostic equipment such as screwdrivers, ratchets, power screwdriver multi meters, continuity testers.
  • Apply chemical solvents, sealants, coatings, primers, adhesives, paints and special finishes.
  • Inspect your work quality and check for Foreign Object Debris.
  • Work around energized sources (electrical equipment and hazards/shock, e.g. circuit breakers and wiring) and exposure to constant noise.
  • Finger manipulation (keyboarding, other).
  • Lifting and carrying up to 10-35 pounds.
  • Climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), crawling, crouching (squatting).
  • Flexion/Extension (head bent down, head bent back), handling, kneeling, bending at the waist, reaching (overhead), rotation of head/neck, standing, twisting at the waist and walking.
  • Verifies product conformance to design requirements.
  • Validates work instructions, tooling requirements, certifications, process standards, policies and procedures.
  • Identifies and documents discrepancies.
  • Segregates and controls non-conforming items to prevent unintended use or delivery.
  • Verifies compliance to customer requirements.
  • Identifies opportunities for corrective action while performing product or process verification.
