Caterpillar is seeking a Product Change Control Engineer in Waco, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and implementing product changes in the manufacturing process, as well as releasing new product introductions in SAP, and tracking progress to production. Additionally, you will have responsibility for inventory control processes for the facility, including part cycle counting, coordinating discrepancy root cause analysis, and performing inventory corrections. What you can look forward to in this role: Management responsibilities include managing manufacturing change information and assignment of manufacturing effective dates, checking the timely receipt and completeness of records prepared by product design, and distribution and maintenance of engineering data. Management, compliance and reporting, within corporate inventory management procedures. Performs annual stratification of parts for cycle counting Issues daily count requested and tracks completion and discrepancies. Assists in root cause investigation of inventory issues in co-ordination with internal logistics and material planner. Addresses issues dealing with engineering design and change implementation requirements within the Concurrent Product & Process Development (CPPD) Process. Creates, maintains, and communicates accurate change management data at the local facility level. Analyzes engineering releases, changes, drawing notices to create change management requirements, and provides the creation of product structure based on engineering design. Responsible for follow up of major engineering releases and changes for when problem resolution are required. Provides management with the tools to monitor the overall progress and effectiveness of product programs and provides technical assistance and education and training to team members as required in ensuring team effectiveness. Analyzes engineering drawings and notices to determine and create procurement item master data, product structure definition, and technical procurement criteria in SAP. Represents Product Change Control at CPPD Team meetings and will be challenged to quickly identify problems, which may not be obvious, within the CPPD environment. Identifies opportunities to reduce inventory and avoid scrap and/or rework. Reviews and ensures the proper release of engineering information within NPI Programs. Serves as an integral member of NPI teams to influence the timeliness of model effectiveness and the impact on other programs.
