About The Position

We’re partnering with a global leader in fiber optic manufacturing to add a Product Engineer to their team. This role sits at the intersection of product knowledge, engineering systems, and data logic. You’ll work closely with manufacturing, internal teams, and customers to ensure product data, specifications, and engineering systems are accurate, optimized, and aligned. The ideal product engineer: Loves understanding how a product works Enjoys pattern recognition and solving system-based problems Thinks in terms of automation and process improvement Is detail-oriented and comfortable validating logic before rollout Can move between product development discussions and data management work

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline - Material Science or Electrical Engineering preferred
  • 3–8 years of engineering experience (co-op considered)
  • Strong problem-solving and technical standard interpretation skills
  • Experience working with structured data and engineering systems
  • Ability to translate customer needs into technical product requirements

Nice To Haves

  • SQL experience
  • Oracle ERP experience
  • Exposure to scheduling, planning, or supply chain systems
  • Experience with engineered products
  • Background in fiber optic cable or telecom manufacturing
  • Computer Science / CIS / CE coursework
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Access, Node.js, or React

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and control cable design data and product specifications
  • Manage engineering databases and system logic tied to manufacturing
  • Translate customer requirements into structured product configurations
  • Execute and validate engineering changes before release
  • Support ERP item setup and cross-system data integrity
  • Automate manual data processes and improve workflows
  • Participate in SQL-based data management and ETL integrations
  • Support customer application questions and technical inquiries
  • Manage complaint resolution and corrective action tracking
  • Collaborate with manufacturing to support fiber optic cable production
