Requirements

  • Education Requirement - 4-year Engineer Degree
  • Salary commensurate with experience
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common drawings and schematics.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, dealers, sales staff, supporting departments and management.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information to top management, coworkers and all parties needing notified.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Computer skills essential to the position.
  • Ability to manage time and multiple tasks at once.

Responsibilities

  • Design, model and create assemblies using CAD software.
  • Issue and prepare detailed drawings, specifications for shop production.
  • Responsible for trailer design development and continuous improvement of existing and future products.
  • Define part numbers and assembly structures for input into Bills of Materials.
  • Determine long lead time items for an advanced bill of materials for purchasing.
  • Create and maintain all engineering procedures and documents.
  • Engineering support for all internal departments, outside sales, and customers.
  • Perform and have the ability to carry out basic engineering calculations.
  • Determine requirements based on sales specs for overall engineering product design.
  • Evaluating material cost and strategizing the most cost-effective means for production
  • Determine legal requirements based on DOT regulations for final design.
  • Confers with research and development and prepares design modifications as required.
  • Evaluating material weights to manufacture a durable but light product.
