About the position
This role will lead Design on all the developer aspects of Wearables at Meta. It's paired-up with collaborative, talented and experienced Product Management and Software Engineering co-leads. Together you'll set the strategy, approach and sequencing of work to make Meta Wearables one of the best platforms to build apps and integrations into. Every single device we launch aims to be not only a step towards AR glasses, but also discrete and uniquely valuable products loved by their users for all they can do for them. At Meta, we do that in collaboration with other companies, each contributing their value towards a thriving ecosystem of capabilities and value for users and these companies. We need you to help us define that world of tomorrow and how to build this ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Lead Design on all developer aspects of Wearables at Meta.
- Collaborate with Product Management and Software Engineering co-leads to set strategy and approach.
- Define the sequencing of work to enhance Meta Wearables as a platform for app development.
- Ensure that devices launched are valuable and loved by users.
- Collaborate with other companies to build a thriving ecosystem of capabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience in Product Design.
- 4+ years of design leadership experience with direct reports.
- Experience building and shipping applications or software across various platforms.
- Experience leading product direction and strategic thinking.
- Ability to represent work to a broader product team and articulate goals and concepts clearly.
- A portfolio demonstrating relevant work and understanding of best practices in product design.
- Understanding of developer ecosystems and industry examples of great developer platforms.
- Understanding of developer incentives and motivations.
- Ability to code and use developer tools and documentation.
- Prior experience as an engineer or prototyper.
- Experience designing or helping code developer tools or other creator tools.
Nice-to-haves
- Consumer app design experience with a focus on high-quality craftsmanship and simplicity.
