About the position
Emerge Talent is hiring a Product Designer to support our client’s internal platforms and tooling design team. In this internal-facing role, you'll work on tools and systems used by employees and partners—not external customers. The focus is on improving operational efficiency, user satisfaction, and usability for internal stakeholders across a global enterprise. This is a contract role with the potential for long-term engagement, offering the opportunity to design at scale and make a meaningful impact on internal user experience.
Responsibilities
- Improve the UX and UI design of internal tools and enterprise platforms
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, Research, and Operations
- Ensure smooth implementation by working closely with Engineering partners
- Leverage research and analytics to design practical, insight-driven solutions
- Translate complex internal workflows into intuitive, scalable experiences
- Share and present design work for feedback, alignment, and iteration
- Help refine internal design and collaboration processes
- Advocate for internal users and elevate their experience through thoughtful design
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in UX and interaction design
- Experience designing internal tools or enterprise software is strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Figma and other industry-standard design/prototyping tools
- Strong understanding of design systems and component reuse
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Willingness to work onsite in NYC at least 3 days per week
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with UX writing and crafting effective microcopy
- Familiarity with information architecture and enterprise workflows
- Ability to create journey maps and service blueprints
- Experience in regulated or highly structured industries
- A portfolio that demonstrates your design process and outcomes
