Ford Driveline Engineering is seeking a highly skilled fastener engineer to lead the department on joint design assemblies. These assemblies include Axles (Front & Rear), Driveshafts, Halfshafts, Disconnect Devices, Transfer Cases, and associated components. Deliverables for this role include leading Core activities such as peer reviews of fastened joint deliverables, Design Rule and Requirement authoring and owner ship, Failure Mode Avoidance work, and general problem solving of ongoing issues.

  • 5+ number of years of experience in fastening engineering
  • The D&R Engineer is expected to understand and effectively utilize product check-in/check-out processes, version control, data release, and change management within Ford’s PLM ecosystem

Responsibilities

  • Enhance the robustness and reliability of driveline products
  • Lead development and refinement of requirements
  • Correlate test methods to customer duty cycles
  • Oversee technical design review sign-off process
  • Maintain core documents
  • Own Implementation of new Technical Design Review Process for robustness in signoff (Peer Review)
  • Maintain, improve and create Core documents with input from Tech Specialist - DFMEA, RCL, Boundary Diagram, Core DV, etc.
  • Develop Customer Correlated Duty Cycles for more meaningful component testing and improved reliability with input from connected data and TDE duty cycles team
  • Streamline requirements and core docs for engineering efficiency
  • Author new systems to components requirements cascade for more robust upfront design
