Job Description Product Managers at U.S. Bank are customer obsessed in driving product visioning, planning and development to deliver on our human + digital product strategy and staying one step ahead of evolving economic, technological, and customer needs. As a Product Manager, you will: Identify, analyze and interpret business data using various kinds of techniques to meet business needs and requirements. Activate the connective tissue between U.S. Bank, customer experience, digital, technology, and business line strategy to identify and prioritize product / portfolio opportunities, and establish the product vision, charter and roadmap. Defines product outcomes and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to prioritize Features/Epics and breaks down work into actionable steps to facilitate product discovery, design, development and delivery. Manages the end-to-end product lifecycle and drives the product roadmap leveraging OKRs (Objectives and Key Results). Creates the product in conjunction with agile, experience design, technology and risk partners to achieve business and customer outcomes. In the case of technical products, understands and cares for the technical features, debt reduction and modernization of the technical product with expertise in the technology required of the product About the team/product(s): Payments: Consumer and Small Business (PCS) is one of two Payment Services divisions that deliver decades of experience and competitive differentiation for U.S. Bank. PCS provides card-based payment solutions across three primary revenue lines: Bank Brand and Small Business, Co-brand, and Elan Financial Services. The team works in close partnership with Product, Marketing, Business Development and Network Strategy, the Chief Administrative Office, and Payments Risk, Credit, and Collections. PCS issues credit and debit cards to consumers and small businesses both directly to U.S. Bank customers and through strategic partnerships with leading brands and financial institutions. The Product Development team is responsible for creating new products across our bank brand, white label, and co-brand credit card portfolios. We are at the forefront of launching newsworthy credit and debit innovations and are committed to continually pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the payments space. Success in this team requires a deep understanding of emerging trends, customer needs, and partner objectives, combined with creativity, customer obsession, financial acumen, and strategic thinking to deliver innovative products that drive meaningful growth. About the Role The Product Development Manager plays a critical role in the creation of new credit and debit card products. This role supports product development initiatives across bank brand, co-brand, and white label cards, with opportunities to work on both near-term product enhancements and longer-horizon, “blue sky” innovations designed to disrupt the industry. The individual in this role will be instrumental in shaping differentiated, market-leading products from concept through launch.

Requirements

  • Product Management experience
  • Expertise on the critical interdependencies among product model system elements that help and hinder performance; ability to plan and design solutions that synchronize resources to achieve business results using business metrics, key performance indicators, design systems, service blueprints, and reusability.
  • Ability to anticipate shifting market priorities, internal and external customer needs in a manner that consistently adds value.
  • Strong customer centricity to implement strategies and techniques used to ensure that customers have a positive experience with the organization's products and services at every touch point.
  • Knowledge of technical aspects of software products; ability to design, configure and integrate technical aspects of software products.
  • Knowledge of Agile ways of working, knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations.

Responsibilities

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, market trends, and innovations to identify breakthrough product opportunities
  • Translate consumer insights and market intelligence into opportunities to enhance existing products and develop new offerings
  • Leverage the product development process to synthesize customer insights, competitive intelligence, and partner input
  • Balance creativity with a strong understanding of financials to craft compelling customer value propositions that also deliver business value
  • Think strategically to identify and capitalize on U.S. Bank’s “unfair advantages” in product design and positioning
  • Lead card design efforts, including physical card design and card art
  • Plan and manage the end-to-end product development process across multiple stakeholders
  • Develop clear, compelling presentations and narratives for senior leadership
