About The Position

This role plays a critical part in product innovation, design engineering, and cross-functional collaboration while ensuring new products are manufacturable, cost-effective, and aligned with market needs. This is not a day-to-day manufacturing support role. The Product Engineer is intentionally focused on forward-looking product development initiatives, with limited application engineering support as needed. Position is onsite in Belding. Relocation is not offered.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering(Electrical or Mechanical or related field preferred) or equivalent industry experience
  • 3+ years in product development, design engineering, or new product development
  • Strong CAD experience (SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar)
  • Experience developing BOMs and routings within an ERP system
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability (DFM)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in industrial, electrical, or fabricated product manufacturing
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems
  • Experience supporting product testing and validation
  • ERP experience supporting engineering change management

Responsibilities

  • Lead new product development initiatives from concept through production release and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, sales, marketing, and production teams to produce industry-leading solutions.
  • Design and develop new standard products using CAD software
  • Create and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, and product documentation
  • Develop and maintain Bills of Material(COMs) and routings for new standard products during NPD
  • Collaborate with Application engineering to incorporate customer and market feedback into product designs
  • Partner with CAD/CAM Engineering to transition new products into manufacturing
  • Support product testing, validation, and qualification activities
  • Ensure designs meet manufacturability, quality, regulatory, and cost requirements
  • Support new product launches and technical readiness
  • Ensure compliance with codes, standards, ISO processes, and quality protocols.
