Knape & Vogt is looking for a Product Engineer whos excited to turn bold ideas into real, market-ready products . Youll help design, develop, and launch innovative solutions across our Sliding Systems and Storage & Organization portfoliosbringing creativity, precision, and problem-solving together. From concept through production, youll be hands-on in shaping products that hit the mark on performance, quality, cost, and timing . Youll collaborate with cross-functional teams, tackle design challenges head-on, and see your work come to life in customers homes and workplaces. We are a global leader specializing in the design, manufacture and distribution of functional hardware, office and healthcare ergonomics and storage-related components for original equipment manufacturers, specialty distributors, hardware chains and major home centers.

Requirements

  • Work Experience : 2 years of work experience in product engineering or any combination of education and professional experience that would meet the responsibilities listed above
  • Education: Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field
  • Computer Skills: Intermediate Skills in Microsoft Office Suite, working and designing experience in 3D Solid Model environment(s)

Responsibilities

  • Define new product concepts
  • Assist in development of new product protocol
  • Assist with the development of the product design and functionality including but not limited to: Solid Model design work, specification of materials, structural analysis, and testing programs
  • Compile and analyze operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified products
  • Implement the product design within the schedule and budget parameters
  • Analyze the risks of a design or process and communicate results
  • Provide support to manufacturing to ensure products are fabricated and assembled based on the intended functionality of the design
  • Support value engineering and cost savings initiatives for existing product designs to refine and ensure design intent and functionality
  • Develop and maintain procedures and processes that support business requirements
  • Communicate with others in the organization and customers to jointly determine customer needs and solutions
  • Generate effective written and oral communication to support, execute, and document project activities
  • Maintain records for patent and IP protection
  • Initiate and review all cost estimates, drawings, and Engineering Change Notice/Engineering Change Order (ECN/ECO) associated with assigned projects
