We have an opportunity for a Product Engineer to join our Spray & Specialty Engineering team in New Brighton MN. This business is a global leader in spray technology and fluid motion, offering an innovative product line that includes spray pumps, spray nozzles, and other sustainable solutions for agriculture, industrial, RV, and marine applications. We are looking for a creative, curious, solution-minded individual to be on the ground level of a wide range of product development and sustaining engineering activities; from design and development, to prototyping and testing, to working with a cross-functional team to drive an idea from concept to production, to improving design, performance, cost, quality or manufacturing methods. You will work a hybrid work schedule for this position, with 4 days/week onsite in New Brighton, MN.

  • Participate in cross-functional new product development (NPD) process, ensuring products/projects are completed.
  • Interact with customers to facilitate the flow of information and hardware to support the customer’s design and development work.
  • Translate customer requirements/specification from the initial quote stage through implementation of production processes.
  • Design and develop prototypes with scopes ranging from specific concepts to comprehensive, functional products.
  • Own essential design aspects such as specifications, 3D modeling, and perform critical testing & analysis.
  • Execute design validation process through prototyping, field & lab testing, fixture design and design-of-experiments.
  • Serve as primary technical interface and process expert with customer design and product manufacturing engineers to facilitate a producible design, fabrication, and scheduling of build-to-print products focusing on design for manufacturability and process improvement.
  • Actively participate in VAVE initiatives by recommending improvements and monitoring implementation of changes.
  • Promote design for manufacturability by working with engineers and suppliers to review and modify tolerances/specifications on both new and existing designs.
  • Have earned a bachelor’s (B.S.) in Engineering or related subject.
  • Have 2-5 years of experience related to a mechanical engineering subject.
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of fluid dynamics, fluid mechanics, and fluid flow.
  • Experience in product design and development methodologies, including high tolerance injection molded products and/or high precision-machined parts.
  • In depth knowledge of key problem-solving techniques, including Design of Experiments.
  • Experience and/or training in project management.
  • Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Computation Fluid Design (CFD) experience is a plus.
