Job Designation

Reporting to the Director of Quality, this position is responsible for all on site Product Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering support for the operation. The position will also have a dotted line responsibility to the MABS Director of Product Engineering

Job Core Responsibilities

Material Review Board:

The Product Engineer will be responsible for engineering analysis and disposition of non-conforming product. Must be a confident decision maker, relying upon abilities to interpret drawing and specification requirements and apply them in practical daily situations.

Product Engineering:

The Product Engineer is responsible for engineering liaison between operations and Product Engineering in Akron, Ohio. This individual will be responsible for the identification and implementation of product enhancements and clarifications resulting in improvements of manufacturability, quality and cost.

Manufacturing Engineering:

Responsible for the expertise of all manufacturing processes and systems, including process documentation, routing lists, test machine programming, etc. Knowledge of tolling and fixture design, basic shop assembly processes is required.

Customer and Product Support:

The Product Engineer is responsible for supporting customer visits, audits and production readiness reviews.

Teamwork:

This individual is required to participate and lead various cross functional teams related to continuous improvement.

Safety:

This individual is responsible for maintaining a safe and orderly work environment that will ensure the safety and general welfare of all employees.

Responsible for working in a safe manner and observing all company procedures regarding environmental, health, and safety matters.

Job Specifications

Education : A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering is strongly recommended or equivalent.
Years Experience : A minimum of two (2) years experience working in design, manufacture and assembly of mechanical components, preferably related to the aerospace industry. This individual should have knowledge of blueprint reading, geometric tolerance, modeling, stress analysis, manufacturing and quality processes. They must have excellent communication, decision making and team skills. The Candidate must be proficient at using various computer software applications. Experience with SAP is a plus.
Skills :

* Excellent ability to apply a systematic and analytical approach to problem solving
* Advanced knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement
* Ability to explain a range of complex technical information
* Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management tools
