The Technical Manager is a highly experienced Pressure Sensitive and Blown In-Mold label expert and the primary technical contact for targeted customers with responsibility for identifying and developing new opportunities. Lead/support product development initiatives and support internal efficiency improvements which positively impact MCC's value added proposition with customers and reduce production costs.

  • Identify new product (or market) opportunities through research of packaging trends.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Sales to plan and execute development of identified new products.
  • Lead and support identified product development initiatives including both business development and research projects.
  • Lead the development and qualification of label constructions supporting new business, procurement, and supply chain activities in various MCC production plants.
  • Conduct laboratory and production trials proving out label constructions meeting internal and Customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure trial and onboarding success of qualification trials.
  • Assist and support plant cost and efficiency improvements through the design of trials and experiments.
  • Administrative responsibilities include updating the technical project database regarding status and due date of projects, writing trial outlines, and providing trial data summaries to Customers.
  • A proven working knowledge of Pressure Sensitive label constructions, Blown-In Mold label constructions, UV Flexo printing, Litho printing, knowledge of UV Flexo/Litho inks, coatings and adhesives.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead projects with both internal and customer stakeholders.
  • Four-year college degree or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4-6 years of experience in a similar role, and/or have 4-6 years of technical experience in the manufacturing of prime labels.
  • Knowledgeable in container types and printing/converting materials and technologies related to package decoration.
  • Mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
