The Product Leader is responsible for the overall performance of the product, overseeing it from inception and ideation through design, build, launch, growth, enhancement and eventual sunset. Creates product roadmap and identifies delivery channels, direction of product and product development needs. Defines product requirements and collaborates with cross functional teams to bring products to market (D&A, technology, sales, fulfillment, product marketing, finance, legal). This position will be based in Reston, VA. This position is eligible to work 2 days a week remote and 2 weeks a year from anywhere, this is not a remote role.

  • Drive and manage the performance of product leaders, providing coaching, development and mentoring to ensure their successful leadership of the product managers.
  • Set clear expectations for effective talent management and hold subordinate managers accountable for goal-setting, honest employee evaluations, and the incorporation of actionable development plans.
  • Provide thought leadership and oversight for overall Market Understanding on products and product lines directly managed and others as consulted.
  • Oversee on-going market validation through review and testing of concepts with existing and prospective customers to ensure maintained competitive advantage.
  • Demonstrate understanding of portfolios and each leaders execution of product definition and opportunity prioritization.
  • Create the vision and develop the strategy for product portfolios; articulate the strategy across the organization and ensure alignment with key stakeholders.
  • Drive Build, Buy, Partner approach and decisions for the products, product lines, & product portfolios within purview.
  • Provide partnership and guidance throughout the product delivery process to ensure strong collaboration with a vast array of teams.
  • Articulate product trade-offs across portfolio and drive alignment.
  • Demonstrate customer-focused innovation, and provide leadership that enforces a customer-first mindset and performance.
  • Provide thought leadership and approach for assessment and planning of the portfolio's future strategy.
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 10+ years of Product Management related experience; Graduate degree preferred; Product Management certifications is a plus.
  • 5+ years of building and leading high-performing Product teams, overseeing the full talent lifecycle from onboarding to fostering a positive work environment that promotes retention and growth.
  • Demonstrates passion about empowering team members through continuous coaching, mentoring, and tailored development programs.
  • Demonstrates a strong influential leadership style, leading teams in a highly matrixed environment required.
  • Expert in cloud-based products and services, demonstrating an understanding of cloud architecture, infrastructure, and deployment models.
  • Mentors teams to write detailed product requirements and demonstrates a solid understanding of product design, commercial model and packaging discussions.
  • Experienced in Product tools required (Aha, JIRA, Figma).
  • Expert in Design Thinking for innovation is a plus.
  • Demonstrates deep understanding of Federal, State, and Local Government customer needs through market and industry research and analysis of competitors.
  • Is capable of setting the vision and ensuring its alignment with strategy and goals.
  • Mastery at leading through influence with key decisions-makers within own function and across related functions.
  • Has managed executional rigor of team to deliver product efforts on time to meet market demands.
  • Thought leader delivering executive level presentations and visual communication to convey the product vision.
  • Has owned financial performance of a product portfolio including investments, budgets.
  • Experience in the technology and/or data industries or working with technology and/or data-related products and services preferred.
  • Working in a highly matrixed organization is a plus.
