As a Senior Product Manager in our Tempe office you will be a team member in a client-facing role responsible for providing new product development services for a Fortune 50 company. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Director of Product Management. You will partner with sales, client services, business, technology and manufacturing counterparts to create compelling product strategies, build product roadmaps and deliver high-quality experiences that delight our clients and drive business growth.
Responsibilities:
* Serve as a product owner, leader and motivator on a cross-functional engagement team working directly with the client to develop new products and make improvements to existing applications.
* Collaborate with the client and leadership team on evaluating and prioritizing new project ideas.
* Engage with the client, sales and business development teams in early solutions discussions to guide options and validate solution from client user perspective
* Work directly with the client to gather and prioritize requirements, create product requirements documents and work with internal client services, engineering, manufacturing and program management teams to ensure engagement goals are met.
* Hands-on product management, design, analysis, and systems development from concept through delivery to meet aggressive timelines. Work closely with engineering to balance technical, product and business trade-offs.
* Deliver written product requirements and use cases with prioritized features and corresponding justification. Collaborate and maintain regular communication to refine requirements and provide project status updates.
* Understand the interdependencies between technology, operations, business and client needs.
* Anticipate and resolve resource gaps, obstacles and timing issues in achieving project goals. Ensure efficient use of companys resources cross-functionally.
* Collect and analyze key business metrics. Use this data to support the prioritizing and definition of project initiatives, as well as determine the successful deployment and adoption of features.
* Occasional travel is required.
Qualifications:
* 5+ years of product management, systems consulting, or analyst experience working with complex software applications and systems in a client setting. Experience with regulatory environments, digital print applications or high volume transactional systems a plus.
* Thrive in client-facing roles. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective relationships both within and outside of the organization. Ability to effectively convey client expectations to internal teams.
* Passion for new product development, client service and creating great user experiences.
* Motivated, creative, learns quickly and results oriented. Comfortable working in a fast-paced product development environment.
* Ability to influence peers and managers while dealing with ambiguity.
* High competency and knowledge in software engineering, product development, and general business processes.
* Experience writing technical requirements for software systems.
* Solid understanding of the systems development lifecycle and basic project management.
* Experience working with both agile and waterfall methodologies.
* Comfortable juggling multiple projects at various stages of completion and motivating and driving a project team to success.
* Ability to collaborate actively and effectively on multidisciplinary teams within Shutterfly and in a client setting.
