Extreme Networks is seeking an innovative and results-oriented Director of Product Marketing (Software) to lead the go-to-market strategy, messaging, and positioning for our software portfolio. This includes Extreme Platform ONE, our cloud-based, AI-driven network management platform, as well as the broader suite of Extreme Networks software offerings that power wired, wireless, SD-WAN and fabric-based networking solutions. This role will be pivotal in shaping how Extreme articulates the value of its cloud and AI-enabled software platforms to enterprise customers, partners, and analysts. You will serve as the PMM lead for Extreme Platform ONE, defining differentiated narratives, help with competitive positioning for the product category, and driving adoption across industries and customer segments. As part of the Product Marketing leadership team, you will partner closely with Product Management, Sales, Corporate Marketing, and Revenue Enablement to ensure successful launches, compelling sales enablement, and accelerated software growth across Extreme’s global footprint.

  • Own product marketing strategy for Extreme’s software portfolio, including Extreme Platform ONE, cloud-based management, and AI-driven applications.
  • Develop market segmentation, buyer personas, and customer journey maps to guide messaging and GTM programs.
  • Define competitive positioning, differentiation, and market opportunities in alignment with Extreme’s growth objectives.
  • Craft compelling, differentiated product marketing messaging and value propositions for cloud-based and AI-driven platforms.
  • Build customer-facing content including solution briefs, white papers, datasheets, presentations, product demos, analyst reports, explainer videos, and web content.
  • Partner with AR/PR teams to amplify Extreme’s leadership in cloud-based networking, AI for networking, AIOps, and enterprise SaaS solutions.
  • Lead GTM planning and execution for software launches, roadmap announcements, and feature rollouts.
  • Drive alignment with Demand Generation and Field Marketing on campaigns, webinars, events, and digital initiatives.
  • Support analyst relations, competitive intelligence, and thought leadership to strengthen Extreme’s market presence.
  • Create and deliver enablement assets: playbooks, battlecards, ROI calculators, and competitive guides.
  • Present to and train global sales and SE teams on positioning, objection handling, and customer outcomes.
  • Partner with Revenue Enablement to ensure consistency of Extreme’s software story across all channels.
  • Engage with customers, partners, and industry analysts to collect insights and validate messaging.
  • Build use cases, case studies, and customer success stories that highlight software-driven business outcomes.
  • Represent Extreme in executive briefings, customer advisory boards, and industry events.
  • 10+ years in Product Marketing, Solutions Marketing, or GTM leadership, ideally in enterprise networking, network management, SaaS, or IT data center infrastructure.
  • Proven success in leading software or platform marketing programs, including crafting sales plays and competitive campaigns, that drive adoption and revenue growth.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise networking: wired, wireless, SD-WAN, and fabric architectures.
  • Expertise in cloud-based network management, SaaS GTM models, and AI/ML for IT operations (AIOps).
  • Familiarity with subscription and consumption-based pricing models.
  • Ability to translate technical innovations into business value for multiple personas.
  • Skilled at competitive and market analysis to identify whitespace opportunities.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills to simplify complex software and AI technologies into compelling narratives.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills with experience influencing Product, Sales, Marketing, and Executive stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, or related field required; MBA preferred.
