About the position

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Product Marketing lead for Private Markets to drive the go-to-market strategy, positioning, messaging, and advisor engagement for AssetMark’s growing suite of private markets solutions. This role requires deep expertise in private investments such as private equity, private credit, real estate, and alternative strategies, along with strong marketing acumen and storytelling ability. The ideal candidate is a marketing leader with a passion for investments, the ability to translate complex concepts into compelling advisor and client-facing narratives, and a proven track record of driving business impact through innovative marketing strategies. This is a full-time position in our Concord, CA office with a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Develop differentiated value propositions and messaging for AssetMark’s private markets solutions tailored to financial advisors and end-investors.
  • Translate complex investment strategies into clear, compelling narratives that educate and engage advisors and clients.
  • Ensure consistency of messaging across all marketing channels and materials.
  • Lead the creation and execution of go-to-market strategies for new private markets products and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with product, investments, sales, and brand teams to develop launch plans, sales enablement tools and multi-channel marketing campaigns.
  • Act as the marketing lead for private markets initiatives, representing the advisor voice.
  • Develop educational content, tools, and resources that help advisors understand and communicate private market solutions to clients.
  • Partner with sales enablement to create impactful presentations, collateral, and training materials for advisors and internal audiences.
  • Stay informed on private market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory developments.
  • Conduct ongoing market research to inform messaging, positioning, and product development decisions.
  • Use data and insights to refine marketing strategies and improve performance.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in product marketing, investment marketing, or strategy within financial services.
  • Demonstrated expertise in private markets (e.g. private equity, private credit, real estate, hedge funds).
  • Strong understanding of how financial advisors incorporate private markets into client portfolios.
  • Proven success in developing go-to-market strategies and marketing programs that drive adoption and engagement.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with product, sales, investments, compliance, and external partners.
  • Proficiency with marketing automation tools, Salesforce, and content development.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, CFA, CAIA, or other designations preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in private markets product development, asset management, or alternative investments distribution.
  • Familiarity with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth advisor segments.
  • Knowledge of regulatory considerations for private market investments.
  • Comfort presenting to internal leadership.
