The Production Operations Analyst will perform multiple activities in support of production control operations of administrative systems.
Perform multiple activities in support of production control operations of administrative systems including: workflow management which consists of PeopleSoft and KFS environments primarily, system and data file management, as well as distributed system support - primarily our Automation environment based on Cisco's Tidal Enterprise Scheduler (TES) and its entirety residing on Windows VM(s). Independently provide secondary support in General workflow in select areas across platforms in both manual and automated environments.
Identify, monitor and propose solutions to problems related to interdependent areas of production control systems working in union with Production Control peers and Production Engineering team members as well as address customer and developer needs. Assist in incorporating relevant (new) technologies and/or workflow methodologies along with procedural deployments and updates pertinent to these technologies or existing processes /workflows. Transfer of knowledge for on-going support where pertinent - staff and customer.
Exceptional interpersonal communications and organizational skills are essential to successful performance in the Production Operations Analyst role, as is a strong technical writing background to maintain our libraries of documentation. Must be a motivated self-starter capable of seeing large pieces of a project through to completion with minimal guidance as efficiently as possible. Must be a strong multi-tasking individual able to maintain momentum in many diverse areas of Production Control and IT itself. Collaborate with experienced Production Control and Engineering staff members to establish / retain best practices and standard operational processes with accuracy and consistency for zero start-up scenarios and duplication as well as efficiency to process and deployment of automation.
* This position will be expected to be available outside standard university business hours to resolve outages and/or system changes, critically high periods, as required though this is mostly (once integrated) a large percentage remote support position.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor degree or combination of equivalent experience and education / training-certification in a technical field. At least 3 to 5 years of Production Control and/or IT Operations experience, or equivalent experience in an IT technical role. At least 1 year experience of service delivery in a technical-oriented, customer support environment required.
* Ability to create basic SQL Queries and provide accurate and detailed reporting. * Experience with application support. * Ability to assess and schedule workflow in consideration of system resources and customer SLA using both automation and manual means. * Strong understanding of WIN and UNIX OS and distributed system environments.
Preferred:
Experience configuring and using an enterprise scheduling system (Automation) preferred. Moderate Database knowledge and understanding of Peoplesoft batch processing and Peopletools ver 8.49an asset.
