About The Position

TREW is a provider of Automated Equipment, Control Systems and Warehouse Execution Software. As a Product Owner, Software Development, you will work with the Software Product Development Team to define and prioritize feature development for our CHAMP-WCS and SmartMoves-WX systems for automated material handling equipment. You must be self-motivated, dedicated and possess a strong sense of initiative. You must have the ability to easily adapt to changing situations and have a strong technical background in software products in the material handling industry, as well as several years’ experience working with Azure DevOps or equivalent software management tools. Candidates must have a strong task-based skillset with a focus on organization, time-management, and prioritization. Candidates will have excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills plus the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of people at all levels of expertise. Duties / Responsibilities: Requirements Gathering & Feature Design: Collaborate with Product Managers and cross-functional teams (Engineering, UI/UX) to collect requirements, define feature specifications, and create wireframes for user interfaces. User Story & Backlog Management: Own the creation and refinement of user stories and tasks in Azure DevOps (or similar tools), ensuring clarity and actionable acceptance criteria. Prioritize the product backlog based on business value, dependencies, and risk. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and clients to align objectives, balance competing priorities, and maintain transparency throughout the development lifecycle. Development Support & Quality Assurance: Provide guidance to development teams during implementation, review test cases, and validate that delivered features meet acceptance criteria and product roadmap goals. Release Planning & Documentation: Assist with resource planning and forecasting for implementation phases. Maintain product documentation, including release notes and specifications, and oversee release readiness to mitigate risks. Data-Driven Decision Making: Use metrics such as velocity and cycle time to improve backlog grooming, release planning, and process efficiency. Agile Practices: Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies, offering clarifications and ensuring smooth collaboration across teams.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies.
  • Proficiency with backlog management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira).
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Technical familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with C#, .NET Core, MS SQL Server, RESTful APIs, and Angular is a plus.
  • Experience of 5+ Years within material handling industry desired or related engineering experience
  • Experience in the material handling/equipment controls industry preferred but not required
