In this role you will: A Product Owner at Actabl provides the knowledge and expertise in a specific subject, business area, or technical area for a project or program. Defines procedures or standards, using the knowledge of what the right or best way to execute a task would be; and recommends procedural improvements. Develops performance objectives and determines acceptable performance levels. Comprehends the language, terms, and jargon in area of expertise; and understands required knowledge needed to determine effective decision-making being able to describe where inconsistencies, irregularities, or flaws may occur. Typical Functions: Assures area of expertise is clearly explained to others, and serves as liaison within a department or function for questions and problems within the area of expertise. Assures facts and details are correct so that the project or program's deliverables will meet the needs of appropriate parties. Supports the definition of processes and policies, supplies business rules and procedures, and communicates the contexts in which the rules, processes and polices are applied. Represents a business units' needs to the project team. Validates the requirements and deliverables that describe product(s) or service(s); tests the product(s) or service(s) near the end of the project or program, using and evaluating it for accuracy and usability; and provides feedback to the project team. Provides input for the design and construction of test cases and scenarios and may validate executed test results. Gives input into and executes user documentation and training materials. Guides others working on a project to ensure the content is accurate. Resolves issues relevant to project deliverable(s) within the area of expertise. Obtains or provides approval for changes to rules, processes, and policies. Other duties or functions may be assigned.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in a Product Owner or similar role; experience working with SCRUM or Agile teams preferred.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Quality teams in Agile software development settings.
  • Ability to translate customer-facing feedback into actionable product requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject-matter expert for assigned products, business processes, or technical domains, clearly communicating requirements and expectations to project teams.
  • Define, validate, and prioritize product requirements, ensuring deliverables meet stakeholder and customer needs.
  • Represent business unit needs to Product, Engineering, Quality, and cross-functional partners throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Validate product functionality near release, testing for accuracy, usability, and alignment with intended outcomes.
  • Partner with Customer Experience (CX) to incorporate voice-of-customer insights, feedback, and pain points into backlog prioritization.
  • Collaborate with Support teams to investigate escalated issues and identify recurring themes for product improvement.
  • Contribute to the creation of user documentation, training materials, and test scenarios.
  • Guide team members to ensure product content, workflows, and outputs are accurate and aligned to standards.
  • Resolve issues related to product deliverables within assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Recommend and obtain approvals for updates to business rules, processes, and policies.
  • Leverage AI tools and productivity software to improve efficiency, research quality, documentation, and workflow automation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support business needs.
