Requirements

  • 3+ years'as a Quality Engineer with experience in aerospace, and/or defense environment, including Design, Manufacturing, and implementation of Quality Management Systems
  • Experience working in an AS9100 / ISO 9001 environment
  • Experience in interpreting contract quality requirements covering quality requirements and quality planning
  • Understanding of RF, cabling, electromechanical, welding, fabrication, painting & plating
  • Practical experience collaborating within a cross-functional group dedicated to supplier quality and product quality assurance for diverse products
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interaction skills
  • Prior experience in using Quality Tools: 8D, 5-Why, DFMEA/PFMEA
  • Hands-on experience working in a multi-functional team covering supplier quality, product quality assurance across a wide range of products
  • Strong analytical skills. Excellent written communication skills and ability to communicate across all level and functions
  • Successfully work with suppliers and/or subcontractors to implement corrective actions and drive improvements at our suppliers
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents, contracts, specifications and engineering drawings (GD&T a plus)
  • BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience
  • US Government position. US citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

  • Lean and/or Six Sigma Certification
  • Working knowledge of PLM Tool (such as Agile) as well as ERP system (such as Oracle)
  • Understanding of IPC 610 & 620 requirements

Responsibilities

  • Identify process gaps, research solutions, and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Work as a member of the Integrated Program Team (IPT) and lead all aspects of Quality Implementation in new products
  • Liaise with customers supporting programs from bid to completion
  • Drive root cause investigations and process improvement efforts
  • Develop and implement world-class quality practices, including using tools like Pareto Analysis, Histograms, Cause & Effect Diagrams, and 8D, along with other business tools to streamline analysis
  • Coordinate Corrective Action Requests (CARs) and Failure Analysis Requests (FARs) to implement improvements
  • Work with cross-functional teams to implement CARs and drive process improvements
