The Product Quality Engineer (PQE) in support of MSW Operations shall support the Quality Program Manager across multiple programs at the Owego site. The PQE shall support assigned programs to ensure product delivered to the customer meets expectations and all requirements imposed. Program performance shall be monitored and reported, build documentation shall be reviewed and approved, and PQE will interface with CM, PC, and Program Management on a regular basis. PQE shall also have primary support to the machining center and perform PQE activities in the inspection areas, reclamation areas, manufacturing build, and packaging and shipping areas. Floor support includes: First Article Inspection per AS9100 of all parts and assemblies, investigation/resolution of problems/issues, monitoring/auditing/support to manufacturing, assembly and shipment. As requested from QPM, review/input to SOW, preparation of Certificate of Conformance for assemblies and product to be shipped when required. Interface with internal departments regarding problem/issue review/resolution, Customer and DCMA interface when required.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with internal departments regarding problem/issue review/resolution.
  • Interface with Customer and DCMA when required.

Requirements

  • Technical Degree (B.S. or A.A.S.), or equivalent years of relevant experience in manufacturing setting.
  • Exhibit business professionalism and values.
  • Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and specifications with GD&T understanding.
  • An understanding of audit techniques.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and identify solutions to complex problems.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to travel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Effective communication and presentation skills (both written and verbal).
  • Knowledge of AS9100D Quality System and pertinent Quality practices.
  • Previous experience working directly with, or in direct support of, Quality Assurance.
  • SAP experience and/or Solumina.
  • Experience with control and disposition of material.
  • Strong mechanical background.
  • Experience with use of inspection equipment.
  • Knowledge of data analysis and statistics.
  • Quality Engineering experience.
  • Understanding of Tableau, Pareto Analysis and Statistical Process Control.
