Position Overview The Product Repair Technician is responsible for performing both cosmetic and structural repairs on MRI coils. This role demands a high level of attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and thorough documentation of all repair activities. Daily tasks include hands-on work such as sanding, surface preparation, and plastic restoration. Candidates should be comfortable performing detailed, repetitive tasks while consistently maintaining quality standards. Hands-on experience with plastics is essential, including familiarity with sanding methods and repair materials. Cosmetic restoration plays a critical role, as MRI coils must meet strict visual and functional requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required, along with relevant experience in plastics or cosmetic repair
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in plastics repair, surface restoration, sanding, and finishing
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong multitasking and prioritization skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proactive, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Commitment to safety protocols and proper equipment handling
  • Experience using electrical and electronic testing equipment such as multimeters, power supplies, tape measures, and network analyzers
  • Solid mechanical aptitude

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree (AS/AA) in Electronics, Electrical Repair, or a related field preferred; equivalent military or technical experience considered
  • Experience with painting and cosmetic finishing techniques
  • Soldering experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced cosmetic and structural repairs on MRI coil assemblies in accordance with OEM standards
  • Evaluate damage to determine root cause, repair feasibility, and the most effective restoration approach
  • Carry out precise disassembly and preparation of components to support high-quality repairs
  • Apply advanced plastic repair techniques, including surface rebuilding, refinishing, and reinforcement
  • Complete all repairs in compliance with established SOPs and ISO 13485 quality requirements
  • Monitor and manage repair materials and inventory to ensure accuracy and availability
  • Collaborate cross-functionally, including with Quality, to support development of new repair processes
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready workspace aligned with safety and regulatory standards
  • Participate in internal audits and quality reviews to ensure ongoing compliance with ISO 13485 and FDA regulations
