About The Position

The Packer is responsible for packing finished printed materials to meet customer specifications, ensuring quality standards are upheld, and supporting the smooth flow of work in the cutting department. This position plays a critical role in the final stage of production by preparing completed jobs for shipment or delivery, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring all materials are handled safely and efficiently.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency; or six-months to one-year related experience in a manufacturing environment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred
  • Ability to read and comprehend job assignment tickets and customer instructional specifications
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Effectively communicate with all members of the organization
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Quality, production, and team oriented
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Ability to adapt to schedule changes based on the needs of production
  • Ability to cross train and work in other departments and/or machines

Responsibilities

  • Consistently weigh and jog (lifting) 25–30 lb paper to ensure proper alignment and preparation for cutting operations
  • Maintain a constant flow of product to the cutting section cutters
  • Liaise and work closely with cutter operators with using good communication and judgment
  • Arrange incoming batches to ensure an efficient workflow
  • Maintain and update the cutting log
  • Change out and move waste product and recycle receptacles in the cutting areas
  • Support other co-workers as required3Use
  • Report all work-related injuries, illnesses, and/or near misses to management immediately
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
  • Ensure all equipment, tools, and workstation are in good working order and is free of safety hazards
  • Report workplace hazards to management immediately
  • Wear all assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required
  • Report all work-related injuries, illnesses, and/or near misses to management immediately
  • Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations
  • Regularly perform general housekeeping duties in your work area(s)
  • Adhere to all safety policies and protocols and maintain a safe working environment
  • Attend all department/company meetings
  • Other duties as assigned
