Requirements

  • Must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler certification upon hire if not already certified.
  • Display basic knife skills.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in fast paced, culinary environment.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Must be able to stand for 8+ hours per day
  • Flexible Scheduling to include weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of all hot and cold foods to standards.
  • Preparation of guest meals according to outlet menu standards.
  • Production Cook must work along with Executive Sous Chef and Executive Chef to ensure quality meets specs and guarantees
  • Production Cook will ensure quality of hot food, main entree, starch, and vegetables are of highest quality available.
  • Assists in the lowering of food cost and waste.
  • Coordination with Executive Chef & Executive Sous Chef
  • Control quality and consistency of all food served.
  • Ensure station is set for service 15 minutes prior to service.
  • Ensure all food supplies necessary for service are in appropriate supply on a timely basis.
  • Required to learn all menu items.
  • Show and demonstrate knowledge of proper refrigeration and serving of cold food.
  • Show and demonstrate knowledge of proper heating, holding and serving of hot food.
  • Production of orders within proper ticket times.
  • Cook and prepare meals for outlets banquets.
  • Ability to speak with guest about food preparation techniques and flavor profiles if requested.
  • Assist food runners in outlets if needed during busy shifts.
