About The Position

Our associates are responsible for performing a variety of duties, depending on their assigned department and lab needs. Production techs help expedite job orders throughout the manufacturing process in a timely and efficient manner in order to serve our customers. Associates observe data on job orders, sort and organize jobs, utilize RF scanning and perform other department specific tasks. We have production positions available in our Surface, Finish and Inventory Departments. Surface duties include: Backside coating - making sure lens is clean, spraying, wiping lens and loading in machine Blocking and Deblocking, block prep Machine operation, taping, generating, polishing Lens washing - removing lens from block, rinsing, washing and drying lens to remove debris Finish duties include: Sorting trays, edging, beveling Tinting - placing lens in holder and tinting to specified color Mounting - inserting lenses into various frames, clean, visually inspect Final inspection - check lens for defects, correct power, axis, prism and compliance with ANSI standards Shipping - scanning, bagging, sorting and preparing customer orders for shipping Inventory duties include: Printing orders and prepping job trays Picking frames and lenses by locating the bin number on the Rx, scanning the barcode and tray and frame Removing lenses from manufacturer's box, placing on the correct side of the tray for processing Pre-inspecting lenses for visual imperfections Ensuring orders are sent to the correct departments within the lab Assisting with restocking, inventory counts

Requirements

  • No specific education required
  • Must be able to read and write English

Nice To Haves

  • No specific experience required for entry level but prior mass production, machine operation, picking orders, inventory or warehouse experience is preferred
  • Prior related or optical experience desirable
