Responsibilities

  • Oversee production to ensure: safe working conditions; products are within quality specifications; waste and efficiency goals are being met.
  • Maintenance repair and fine-tuning of packaging machines and case packers.
  • Train process and packaging machine operators.
  • Responsible for covering processing and packaging machine operator positions as operators are on vacation, absent or on break. This may also include any necessary Sanitation and Utility responsibilities.
  • Ensure production team adheres to the production schedule.
  • Ensure that production changeovers occur as scheduled to eliminate over/under produced items and ensuring machine rates be set up correctly for optimum OEE performance. This will require ongoing communication with the production team and scheduling personnel.
  • Ensure that weight checks be completed at an 85% - 90% rating by working with all operators on the shift.
  • Monitor and follow-up on MES production software systems and conduct SIC meetings. This will include the monitoring and following-up with operators to ensure proper procedures are being conducted for stoppages, OOE, weights, and adjustments. Ensuring and monitoring correct data is entered.
  • Act as a back-up for the supervisor position, including providing coverage for the supervisor position when the supervisor schedules vacations or is absent and displaying company core values at all times.
  • Learn how to properly move oil from multiples areas, including the unloading of trucks and relocating oil to different plant locations.
  • Must report unsafe equipment to maintenance and/or supervisor on duty as necessary.
  • Ensure all employees make safety the priority by observation, conducting regular safety conversations and demonstrating through actions his/her commitment to safety.
  • Must attend all required meetings, including the Safety and SQF (Safe Quality Food) meetings and/or training sessions.
  • Work with temporary employees to make sure they are following proper policies and procedures. This includes approving their hours weekly.
  • May be required to cover various shifts, including Friday’s, in various plant locations during the absence of other supervisors.
  • This position has a 6 month learning period where you will be evaluated by your supervisor on the objectives/goals provided to you.
