About The Position

To ensure the highest standards of service to client while maintaining operational efficiency, intradepartmental communication, and cohesive relationships within the company. The Production Manager is responsible, directly and through subordinates, for the successful delivery of ITA products and services to customers through the efficient and effective use of company resources, including personnel, equipment, vendors, facilities, and time. The “PM” oversees production staff, scheduling, project coordination, logistics, and client service across all phases of live event production, while maintaining a hands-on operational presence as needed to support execution, resolve issues, and ensure continuity of service. This position requires schedule flexibility to effectively supervise live event production, support operational needs, and ensure consistent execution across varying event schedules.

Requirements

  • Prior management experience in live event production, entertainment, or a related field, with a strong working knowledge of production workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising staff and managing schedules.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong customer service skills with direct client interaction.
  • Stays current with industry trends, news, and emerging technologies, and applies relevant insights to improve processes and outcomes.
  • Familiarity with production logistics, rental operations, and vendor coordination.
  • Background in audio-visual production, technical theater, concerts, or corporate events.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a closely related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience reading and creating technical drawings for event execution.

Responsibilities

  • Staff Development & Supervision
  • Interview, select, train, appraise, and coach production staff.
  • Plan, assign, and direct the work of technicians and freelance labor.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Address employee issues and disciplinary matters in coordination with management.
  • Maintain standards of professionalism, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Production Planning & Scheduling
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate production schedules for full-time, part-time, and freelance staff.
  • Coordinate staffing across live events, preparation and internal projects.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels and skill coverage for all events.
  • Maintain and manage the freelance labor roster, including onboarding, updates, and communication.
  • Pre-Production & Project Management
  • Participate in pre-production planning and internal coordination.
  • Review event scope, timelines, staffing requirements, and production needs.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and documentation for event execution.
  • Identify potential challenges related to venues, access, labor requirements, and logistics.
  • Quoting & Cost Coordination
  • Prepare production-related quotes as required.
  • Develop labor estimates and production cost inputs.
  • Coordinate internally to ensure quotes accurately reflect execution requirements.
  • Logistic & Vendor Coordination
  • Coordinate equipment movement, shipping, freight, and cross-rentals with warehouse and staff.
  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers to secure required services and materials.
  • Arrange travel and accommodations for staff.
  • Review production-related expenses and documentation for accuracy.
  • Event Execution & Oversight
  • Oversee live event execution to ensure schedules, staffing, and resources are aligned.
  • Support job leads and crews to ensure work is completed efficiently and to company standards.
  • Monitor work in progress to maintain quality, safety, and professionalism.
  • Address on-site issues immediately and adjust plans when required.
  • Client Communications & Service
  • Always maintaining clear and professional communication with clients and internal stakeholders at all times.
  • Address client concerns related to production staff or event execution.
  • Ensure production staff professionally represent ITA at all times.
  • Follow up with clients as required to support successful outcomes.
  • Administrative Responsibilities
  • Maintain and review employee timecards and labor records.
  • Ensure production-related paperwork and documentation are accurate and complete.
  • Participate in the development and refinement of policies and procedures.
  • Communicate regularly with management regarding staffing, scheduling, and operational needs.
