About The Position

As the Production Manager, works within the Dining Services Department to ensure that high quality, properly seasoned, nutritious food and menus are being provided throughout the operation, in a fiscally responsible and sustainable manner. Works professionally and cooperatively as a valued member of the dining services management team, assisting with any aspect of the dining services program necessary.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years food service experience.
  • ServSafe Certification
  • Must possess a positive, can-do attitude, be detail-oriented, and possess a well-rounded knowledge of the food service industry.
  • Must maintain professionalism at all times, and work with others in a cooperative manner, even while working under pressure.
  • Willing to engage actively in the physical work of a high-quality hospitality service operation.
  • As a representative of Creative Dining Services, must function in accordance with our corporate Mission, Vision, and Core Values statements.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in hiring, scheduling, timekeeping, performance appraisals, and disciplinary actions of kitchen staff.
  • Assists the Executive Chef with supervision and coordination of culinary activities in all operations.
  • Selects appropriate vendors.
  • Makes food purchases and controls inventory in a fiscally responsible manner.
  • Assists the Executive Chef with developing and selecting the recipes to be used within the operation.
  • Assists the Executive Chef with standardizing the production of menus and recipes so as to ensure that quality is offered at all times; communicates with the CDS Home Office regarding changes to the CDS production recipes and menus as necessary.
  • Estimates and forecasts food consumption, monitoring production volumes, and adjusting future production as needed; maintains budgetary controls.
  • Maintains an organized system of comprehensive production record keeping.
  • Assists the Executive Chef with planning, costing and pricing of menus.
  • Ensures that all kitchen equipment works and is maintained properly, kitchen and office is organized.
  • Ensures the kitchen is always safe and sanitary; C.L.E.A.N.Works! program is followed.
  • Maintain good public relations with all customers, clients, staff, vendors, and the community; achieves high levels of customer and client satisfaction.
  • Conducts continuing analysis of production, recommending any operational changes necessary to the Executive Chef.
