Position Summary Work in a team environment serving as Production Operator in a dynamic industrial distribution business. Receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within establishments by performing the following duties.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and two years related warehouse, distribution or logistical experience.
  • Experience operating forklifts
  • Must be able to communicate detailed and/or important instructions, including safety instructions, to other workers accurately, loudly and/or quickly.
  • Basic mathematical skills required. Must be able to count and measure accurately and record the results.

Responsibilities

  • Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Conveys materials and items from Receiving or Production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line.
  • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
  • Marks materials with identifying information.
  • Opens bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Arranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.
  • Uses computer and/or bar code scanner to enter records.
  • Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.
  • Drives vehicles to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.
  • Completes requisition forms to order supplies from other plant departments.
  • Prepares parcels for mailing.
  • Maintains inventory records.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Able to process a cut order to include the following: perform actual physical cutting of pipe, generate stencil and apply to cut piece and drop, maintain the order in the operating system.
  • Perform routine maintenance on the saws to include but not limited to the following: greasing, checking of all fluids, leveling of rollers.
  • Capable of training others to proficiency on levels 1 and 2.
