About The Position

The Production Planning Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules to ensure efficient workflow, on-time delivery, and optimal use of labor, equipment, and materials. This role works closely with manufacturing, purchasing, inventory, engineering, and quality teams to coordinate production requirements and support operational goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or 8 years of equivalent experience
• 10+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or program coordination
• Strong understanding of production planning concepts including capacity planning, lead times, BOMs, and MRP
• Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple departments
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage changing priorities

Nice To Haves

• Experience using ERP/MRP software and advanced Excel skills
• Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma familiarity
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in a regulated environment

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and adjust production schedules and workflow strategy based on production drawings, capacity, material availability, and lead times
• Monitor production progress and address delays, shortages, or constraints to minimize downtime
• Coordinate with Purchasing and Inventory teams to ensure raw materials and components are available when needed
• Communicate daily/weekly production plans to production teams and relevant stakeholders
• Track and report key performance metrics such as schedule adherence, build strategy effectiveness, and capacity utilization
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve planning accuracy, reduce waste, and optimize throughput
• Collaborate with program, production, and quality teams on new build strategy objectives, revisions, and production changes
• Participate in meetings related to production readiness, supply chain constraints, and delivery performance
