About The Position

The Production Scheduler is responsible for developing, adjusting, and executing production schedules for high mix, value added LED lighting products across multiple U.S. facilities. This role supports a global supply chain and must react quickly to changes in overseas lead times, tariffs, material availability, and customer demand. The Scheduler will coordinate closely with production, purchasing, sales, customer care, and engineering to ensure timely delivery, optimal capacity utilization, and efficient use of resources. This position also plays a key role in transitioning manual processes to AI supported and BI enabled tools to streamline scheduling, reporting, and decision-making.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3–5+ years of production scheduling, production planning, or related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with MRP/ERP systems (Infor Syteline preferred).
  • Strong understanding of production scheduling methods, capacity planning, and workflow optimization.
  • Knowledge of supply chain concepts and the impacts of tariffs, import lead times, and global logistics.
  • Proficiency with Excel (advanced functions), data analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience with BI tools or willingness to learn (Power BI, Copilot, AI-based scheduling tools).
  • Ability to automate manual processes using AI prompts, macros, workflows, or similar tools.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work productively and respectfully with sales, customer care, purchasing, engineering, and operations.
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and business needs.
  • Strong customer focus and sense of urgency.
  • Physical demands are those of a typical office environment.

Responsibilities

  • Create and update daily production schedule to meet demand and maintain efficiency.
  • Daily reporting of key needed metrics and reports.
  • Develop production schedules and set priorities that support strategies for sales, inventory levels, and availability of equipment/labor/materials capacity utilization.
  • Communicate schedule changes and special production runs that effect future production plans to work teams and operations.
  • Oversee and troubleshoot paperless job release as they are rolled out.
  • Download MillerKnoll information from SPARC and create labels needed in production.
  • Work with purchasing on commonly built items that are better built by AITC.
  • Read and understand the job “work order" for instructions and specifications specific to the manufacturing of a job.
  • Continuous improvement of procedures and processes.
  • Foster and maintain a high level of teamwork both departmentally and interdepartmentally.
  • Maintain departmental files.
  • Work with AI and BI teams to create efficiencies in scheduling and improve production processes.
  • Develop, maintain, and adjust detailed production schedules for value-added operations including tape light cutting, connector installation, kitting, and packaging.
  • Analyze demand, capacity, material availability, and WIP to ensure accurate daily, weekly, and long-range scheduling.
  • Respond quickly to unexpected supply chain changes—including overseas delays, shipment disruptions, and tariff-driven strategy shifts—by modifying schedules and communicating impacts.
  • Work closely with global manufacturing partners to understand lead times, production constraints, and shipment statuses.
  • Collaborate with purchasing to review shortages, MRP signals, and pull-in/push-out opportunities to optimize schedule execution.
  • Communicate schedule changes clearly to production coordinators and managers, value-added teams, customer care, and sales.
  • Utilize MRP, BI tools, and Excel/AI solutions to reduce manual scheduling processes, improve reporting accuracy, and create efficiencies.
  • Track, report, and manage key metrics such as schedule adherence, capacity utilization, material shortages, and late-order risk.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying waste, proposing enhancements, and helping implement new processes.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate work order documentation and verify instructions, revisions, and specifications.
  • Participate in cross-functional problem-solving related to production delays, demand spikes, material constraints, and engineering changes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
