About The Position

Our history dates back to 1905, when we began to produce castings in Elyria, Ohio, for the machine tool, gas engine and other industries. Our Hodge Foundry location began operation in 1876 and built a reputation for quality casting from its Greenville, Pennsylvania location. The two foundries joined to form a single company in 2008, which is today known as Elyria Foundry. We are a fast-paced, technically advanced, customer-focused operation creating high-quality, American-made products and we’re looking for individuals who are eager to learn and contribute to the Team! Position: Production Scheduler The Production scheduler manages the scheduling of orders and production in all areas of the Foundry. This position is responsible for all aspects of production planning to optimize the use of material sand resources while meeting customer expectations and delivery.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • 5-10 years of experience in production scheduling or planning within a fast paced, manufacturing environment is required
  • Strong knowledge of production processes, capacity planning, and inventory management
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Customer service focused (internal and external customers)
  • Basic computer skills – Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management is preferred
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and value stream principles is a plus
  • General knowledge of the foundry industry is preferred
  • Proficiency with scheduling software and data analysis tools
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning, coordinating, and reviewing all activities related to production planning and scheduling to meet customer requirements
  • Evaluate capacity and resource availability to ensure production schedules are achievable and cost-effective
  • Analyze available data to identify trends and bottlenecks, and to make informed scheduling decisions
  • Revise schedules as needed based on priorities, material availability, and resource constraints
  • Establish priorities for customer orders and communicate changes to internal teams to ensure alignment and customer satisfaction
  • Proactive external customer communication (keep strong lines of open communication through changes)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with customers, sales and production teams to resolve issues and maintain schedule integrity
  • Drive improvements in scheduling and production control
  • Develop and run reports as needed
  • Perform other duties as required
