About The Position

Production Stick Pack Lead, 2nd Shift – Kennesaw, GA This is an non-exempt level position. Position Summary: This job description is applicable to the following positions: Lead Stick Pack Operator. The purpose of the Production Operator is to operate assigned equipment in a safe and timely manner consistent with current SOPs and GMP requirements in the production of formulations. The Document Control Specialist must conform to the Deerland Enzymes and Probiotics Core Values which are reflected in Deerland’s SQUAD Quality Policy Job Responsibilities: Monitor workers on site during production activities to ensure adherence to ethics and safety procedures. Motivate workers to enhance production quantity and at the same time maintain high production standards. Work as middleman between workers and management to create healthy communication. Train and monitor existing and new Deerland associates in all processes defined in the bottling area including but not limited to procedures, equipment operation, changeovers, cleanings, paperwork and properly entering data into the VORNE system. Act in a supervisory capacity in the absence of the supervisor and/or manager on occasion. Perform all changeovers in the respective area to ensure they are done correctly and in a timely manner. Learn the operator roles, responsibilities and SOPs specific to the assigned area and equipment. Complete all required batch records and forms in an accurate and timely manner. Perform machine changeover and cleaning as specified by the production schedule in accordance with appropriate SOPs. Operate assigned equipment in a safe, productive and timely manner. Weigh, count, document and verify raw materials used in the assigned production area. Ensure products in assigned area are produced according to the batch record and specifications. Clean assigned equipment and rooms according to SOPs in a timely manner. Accurately maintain the correct data input for the VORNE system in your area in order to monitor the equipment overall efficiency Adhere to company rules and safe work practices within the department. Keep work area clean and organized.

Requirements

  • Communication Skills – Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Must be able to write simple correspondence. Must be able to effectively present information to other employees.
  • Mathematical Skills – Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Reasoning Ability – Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Must have the ability to handle problems involving a few variables in standardized situations.

  • Respirator use – Employee must be able to wear a respirator depending on the situation.
  • Mechanical aptitude – Employee must be able to learn to operate, maintain and adjust assigned equipment.
  • Dependability – Employee must arrive on time for assigned shift. Must have a valid drivers license.
  • Forklift Training – Must be able to learn how to operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
  • Minimum – High School Diploma
  • Previous experience in a GMP-regulated environment (dietary supplements, pharmaceutical, food, or medical device preferred)

Nice To Haves

  • Operates and leads the Stick Pack line to meet the production plan in a safe, efficient, and in-spec manner
  • Experience with using ERP/MRP systems and performance management tools
  • Familiarity with FDA 21 CFR Part 111 (dietary supplements) or Part 210/211 (pharmaceuticals)
  • Exposure to audit preparation or participation
