About The Position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading daily operations within their assigned production area, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives are consistently achieved. This role provides direct supervision of production personnel, manages workflow execution, and drives accountability through coaching, performance management, and operational leadership. The position requires strong technical expertise, sound decision-making, and the ability to balance people leadership with operational execution. The Production Supervisor serves as the primary point of ownership for team performance, resource utilization, and continuous improvement within their department.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or additional leadership training preferred
  • Proven experience in manufacturing or production environments
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of safety, quality, and operational workflow principles
  • Effective communication, conflict resolution, and team leadership skills
  • Ability to make independent decisions and manage multiple priorities
  • Solid problem-solving and organizational abilities
  • Basic computer proficiency for reporting, scheduling, and documentation
  • Physical ability to perform job-related tasks including lifting or moving materials as required
  • Adaptability and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Ability to physically meet the following: o Stand continuously, 8+ hours o Kneel, crouch occasionally o Climb Ladder occasionally o Lift from floor to waist occasionally o Lift from waist to shoulder occasionally o Lift overhead occasionally o Lift 0 – 25lbs frequently o Lift 25 – 50lbs occasionally o Lift 50 – 75lbs occasionally

Responsibilities

  • Enforce and promote all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements; actively lead incident prevention and response.
  • Directly supervise production personnel including scheduling, attendance oversight, and daily work assignments.
  • Manage workflow, staffing levels, and priorities to meet production schedules and operational targets.
  • Hold team members accountable for safety, quality, productivity, and behavioral expectations.
  • Conduct training, coaching, performance feedback, and disciplinary actions when required.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and employee development activities.
  • Monitor production metrics and quality performance; initiate corrective actions when targets are not met.
  • Coordinate with planning, engineering, maintenance, and other departments to resolve operational challenges.
  • Lead shift meetings and communicate priorities, updates, and expectations clearly to the team.
  • Drive adherence to housekeeping and workplace organization standards (5S).
  • Identify process inefficiencies and lead improvement initiatives to enhance performance and reduce waste.
  • Ensure proper equipment use, material handling, and documentation compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records related to production, personnel, safety, and quality.
  • Support cross-department collaboration and operational coverage as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
