About The Position

Seeking a 2nd shift Production Supervisor who effectively manages all aspects of the production area on the assigned shift, which can include helium filling, balloon production, and napkin production.

Requirements

Ability to communicate with management, colleagues, line staff, and individuals outside the company in order to meet departmental goals.
Strong analytical skills with a methodological approach to problem solving and implementation.
Effective oral and written communication skills including the ability to present ideas, and/or facts and recommendations effectively.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret related documents.
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Ability to manage groups through project implementation.
Excellent follow-up and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
Ability to work independently with little direction.
High school diploma or its equivalent required; undergraduate degree preferred.
At least 1 year of experience in a distribution/manufacturing environment is required; 3 or more years strongly preferred.
Prior management experience required.

Responsibilities

Leads the team to meet expected production goals.
Effectively controls inventory, including inbound raw material and outbound finished goods.
Ensures product consistently meets established quality control standards.
Develops, monitors, and maintains departmental standards and costs.
Develops, executes, and revises departmental SOPs to enhance quality, quantity, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Maintains records necessary for the preparation and distribution of accurate and timely reports.
Complete and update work orders in JDE as required.
Work with maintenance to ensure production equipment is maintained and operational to meet demands.
Interacts with all areas of the department to understand issues and assess needs to improve consistency and integrity of processes.
Responsible for daily management and supervision of departmental workforce, including providing direction, setting deadlines, and resolving problems. Administers corrective action according to company guidelines.
Works with Human Resources to interview, select, and train employees to fill vacant positions.
Annually prepares performance evaluations for departmental staff.
Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills. Stays current with developments within the manufacturing and distribution field and shares expertise with others.
Exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others and works to maintain constructive working relationships.
A commitment to company-wide quality and safety is required.
Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
