About The Position

As a Production Supervisor at Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in coordinating labor assignments and supervising employee development while ensuring safe and efficient plant operations. This position requires strong leadership abilities, decision-making skills, and operational expertise, and offers the opportunity to contribute directly to production targets, quality standards, and operational efficiency. You will collaborate with production teams, the Quality Department, and Maintenance, ensuring that workflow remains smooth and safety standards are upheld. This is an on-site (2nd Shift) role located in Rochelle, IL. Requirements

  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Associate degree with an emphasis on management or supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and working knowledge of shop floor interfaces such as MES and SAP.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills with the ability to build productive working relationships.
  • Excellent communication, leadership abilities, and effective time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Planning – Develop work schedules and implement action plans to achieve production goals, plant objectives, and enhance efficiencies.
  • Team Leadership – Hire, coach, develop, monitor, and evaluate staff performance while recommending personnel actions to foster a high-performing team.
  • Workflow Management – Delegate responsibilities to team members and generate daily operation reports to ensure shift continuity and accountability.
  • Quality Control – Collaborate with the Quality Department to perform checks on sites and equipment to ensure customer and quality standards are met.
  • Inventory & Maintenance – Monitor cycle counts to maintain accurate warehouse records and identify maintenance needs for escalation to appropriate departments.
  • Safety Leadership – Lead and promote healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy, including documenting injuries and recommending corrective actions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support plant success.
