Covia is looking for a dynamic Night Shift Production Supervisor (7pm - 7am) who will have a positive impact on the Operations team at its Roff, OK location. As a Production Supervisor, you will report to the Operations Manager and will directly supervise the production and shipping operations to ensure that output is maximized at the lowest cost while maintaining safety and quality requirements. The successful candidate will have the following Key Accountabilities: Accept personal responsibility for your own safety by working to maintain a safe work environment and evaluating all tasks utilizing the SLAM risk protocol. Report all near hit incidents, unsafe acts, or situations and injures immediately to the Operations Manager. Administer all facets of the safety and health policies while adhering to the SLAM risk method within the sphere of all tasks. Advise the Operations Manager of potential problems that might affect the plant's ability to produce in a safe and/or efficient manner. Ensure safe work operations and aid in safety training Conduct safety meetings with employees as required. Directly supervise production activities which include: Mining Processing Shipping Housekeeping Provide assignments and instructions to employees to ensure continuity of tasks and efforts from shift to shift. Devise schedules to fill all orders on time, while minimizing cost and maximizing production. Maintain product quality standards in the applicable areas of responsibility. Initiate and follow-up on maintenance requests. Identify, administer, provide, and/or recommend necessary training needs for the plant operations personnel. Monitor manpower requirements and recommend changes. Ensure "good housekeeping" practices in all areas of the operation. Report major problems to the Operations Manager immediately. Collect, check, and forward all necessary labor and operating reports. Maintain an accurate physical inventory of finished products. Regularly initiate or participate on Continuous improvement Teams. Recommend changes in standards or work methods to improve safety and productivity. Work closely with Customer Service to schedule shipments. Maintain open communications with subordinates and superiors, both orally and by written reports. Handle discipline within the department when required Perform other duties as assigned. The successful candidate will have the following Minimum Qualifications: A minimum of 2 years production and shipping experience is preferred. The ideal candidate will be a leader with prior experience supervising in an industrial or mining environment. Exhibit a team focus and the ability to achieve results through others. Bachelor's degree preferred; high school diploma required. Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years production and shipping experience is preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will be a leader with prior experience supervising in an industrial or mining environment.
