About The Position

As an Production Team Lead at IPL you will: Oversee production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers. Responsible to meet shift production goals. Production Team Lead will serve as a backup to the Production Supervisor, Floaters or any other production opening in their absence. Maintain knowledge of product quality plans; assembly, check for flaws, blemishes, discoloration, burn marks, warping and stacking and package product. Emboss product when required; ensure a quality embossing stamp. Must be able to set up embossing machine. Perform inspection and part dimensional measurements of each part to quality plan requirements. Notify supervisor of any suspect quality issues. Will be required to assist with production work during break and lunch periods. Transport product into inventory in a safe manner; [using Forklift machine] Lead in routine operator preventive maintenance on mold and machines, mold changeovers and lubing molds. Maintain safe workplace and ensure that safety policies are followed. Responsible for quality control. Make adjustments as necessary during shift to produce product within specifications. Reject product outside of specifications. Start up and troubleshoot machines and maintain, molds, materials, and auxiliary equipment, ensuring machines run within operating parameters. Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years’ experience in the plastics industry
  • A broad base of current technical knowledge to ensure that safety standards are met, and efficiencies are maintained.
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery.
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
  • Problem solving and decision-making abilities are essential for success.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where frequent interruptions will necessitate a reevaluation of priorities.
  • Exhibits sound and accurate judgment.
  • Conveys information in a clear manner; ensures that others understand instructions or other information that is communicated.
  • Lockout-Tagout knowledge.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory experience desirable
  • Crane Operation a plus.
  • Injection Molding Experience a plus.
