As part of our involvement, Jefferson Industries Corporation offers design and development for press dies and other tools necessary to produce automotive products. We embrace programs for product development including product design review and Advanced Product Quality Planning. We are actively seeking a Production Team Leader to join our Welding Department on 1st Shift (core schedule, Monday through Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm) Job Position and Duties May Include:

Requirements

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers
  • Ability to quickly ascertain a situation and be decisive in identifying defects and solving problems with equipment and process to avoid missed quality, delivery or safety concerns.
  • Ability to stand on concrete up to 12 hours
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime as required to meet customer demands overtime may be daily and/or weekend
  • Perform job duties in a safe, effective, and accurate manner
  • Adhere to all Company policies and procedure
  • Works to improve efficiency and quality to reduce process and equipment-related downtime
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing across all levels of the business
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment drug screen and physical

Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate production associates to achieve established safety, quality, delivery and production objectives in the Weld department
  • Collaborate with leadership to implement innovative solutions for improved workflow
  • Train, mentor, and support team members to develop their skills and improve performance
  • Take initiative to solve problems and overcome obstacles to successfully complete job duties
  • Perform quality part checks timely as required by standards
  • Follow and enforce established quality and containment procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of area of responsibility to reduce or eliminate workplace hazards
  • Assists associates with managing costs associated with personal protective equipment (PPE) to help control waste while ensuring PPE worn is in good working order to prevent workplace injury
  • Accurately and timely complete production-related documents, such as: downtime, scrap, rework
  • Maintain confidentiality for any associate-related issues
  • Verify production lines are setup for proper model types and stocked for incoming shift
  • Support production operations as needed, including operating equipment and/or driving forklift
  • Other duties as assigned
