About The Position

The position is responsible for assembling, testing, and preparing equipment for installation and shipment. The Production Technician ensures that machines meet technical, quality, and safety standards before leaving the facility; assists with troubleshooting and adjustments during production; supports continuous improvement in production processes; and works closely with supervisors, engineers, and service teams to meet deadlines and customer requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical school or associate degree in manufacturing, mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing, assembly, or technician role (machine tool or CNC background a plus).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documents.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Hands-on experience using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify product quality.
  • Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and precision testing instruments.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Effective communication and documentation skills.
  • Must be able to stand, lift, and move equipment and components during production as required.
  • Commitment to adhering to safety policies and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble machinery and components according to engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Inspect, test, and verify machines meet operational and safety specifications prior to shipment.
  • Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and installation teams to identify technical issues and ensure equipment is production-ready.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic adjustments as needed to optimize machine operation.
  • Document production processes, test results, and equipment adjustments for quality records.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and workstations in a safe, organized, and efficient manner.
  • Assist in diagnosing equipment failures and correcting issues in a timely manner before shipping or installation.
  • Support production scheduling by completing assignments on time and escalating delays when necessary.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and report inefficiencies or quality concerns to supervisors.
  • Follow all company, industry, and customer safety protocols during assembly, testing, and handling of machinery.
  • Provide input on needed replacement parts, tools, or supplies to ensure uninterrupted production operations.
  • Work closely with warehouse staff to coordinate machine pickup, packaging, and shipment logistics.
  • Assist with training and mentoring new production team members, when assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
