About The Position

The Lead Trainer plays a vital role in the onboarding and training of newly hired employees at American Plastics. This position will report to the Shift Supervisor and will be responsible for, but not limited to:

Requirements

  • Previous training experience in production/manufacturing preferred.
  • Preferred knowledge of plastic resins, colorants, materials, corrugated cartons and all parts that are used in the manufacturing of finished goods.
  • Excellent English communication skills are needed to effectively communicate and document training.
  • Must be able to demonstrate excellent attendance.
  • Showing up on time and consistently for the schedule assigned (including overtime) and maintains good attendance. Trainers should never exceed 4 points.
  • Maintain a professional and positive attitude, dressing appropriately for the role, and interacting with colleagues and clients in a professional manner. Attends all scheduled meetings.
  • Promotes teamwork by collaborating effectively with colleagues, assisting when needed, and contributing to a positive team environment.
  • Must adhere to all safety procedures & help promote a clean and safe work environment.

Responsibilities

  • To provide training to all newly hired Press Operators on the shift.
  • Fills out new hire training packets properly and thoroughly in a timely manner.
  • Performs checks on quality and proper counts for shipment.
  • Acts as a Relief Operator by breaking press operators, supplying operators with necessary equipment or supplies, and covering vacations.
  • Works as an operator if production needs are in demand.
  • Performs other diversified tasks as assigned by the supervisor or management.
  • Will be the point of contact for team members that need additional training, or those who need training on new products.
