Program Assistant (Bilingual Haitian Creole)
About The Position
MENTOR Adult Day Health, a member of the Sevita family, provides day programs for elders with complex medical or rehabilitative needs. This allows seniors to obtain quality healthcare while remaining active and involved in the community and continuing to live in their own homes. Our programs are staffed with qualified, experienced licensed nurses and caregivers who are trained to provide individual assistance to each person we serve. Program Assistant – Adult Day Care Location: St. Belvi Adult Day Center Address: 6 Frontenac St Dorchester MA 02124 Schedule: Full Time | Monday–Friday | 7:30AM-4PM Wage: $16/hour Would you like to work in a rewarding environment with fantastic coworkers? Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; must be 18 years or older.
- Minimum one year of experience providing services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, preferably with older adults.
- CPR and First Aid certification required.
- Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills.
- Reliable, responsible, and compassionate attitude.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on assistance with daily living needs such as feeding and toileting
- Offer mobility support and ensure participants are safe and comfortable throughout the day
- Encourage independence while providing respectful, dignified assistance as needed
- Assist with meal and snack support according to dietary guidelines
- Engage participants in meaningful activities, social interaction, and enrichment programs
- Monitor and report any changes in mood, behavior, or physical condition to the care team
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
- Build positive, supportive relationships with participants and their families
- Work collaboratively with team members to provide high-quality, person-centered care
