(1.5 nautical miles off North Fork of Long Island & 6 nautical miles off coast of Old Saybrook, CT). Marine transportation furnished by Government provided ferry. Key Role: Provides technical support for an Earned Value Management (EVM) program. Serves as key focal point for all project cost accounting, including accounts payable, payroll, budgets, and miscellaneous accounting functions. Assists in cost management functions of forecasting, budgeting, and reporting. Provides financial support to management in generating computerized reports and facilitating internal and external audit processes. Collects and records cost accounting data of project expenditures. Reviews customer invoices and participates in financial audits of same. Monitors and records data using EVM tracking systems. Assists cost accounting managers through attention to budget, ongoing analysis of project metrics, and integration of cost and schedule information. Compiles statistical, financial, accounting, or auditing reports for cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, profits and losses, forecasts, and budgeting. Posts data in computerized purchasing system and maintains appropriate files of transactions. Support the program and special projects by providing financial & administrative support including project setup, vendor & AR/AP management, and ad hoc financial analysis for internal & external customers. Develop program related financial data and metrics to include program budgets and forecasting. Provide oversight on financial tracking and the efficiency and effectiveness of financial programs; follow up on audit resolution and corrective actions. Serve as a business partner and adviser to senior leadership and program managers on all program financial matters for the assigned contracts. Utilize government accounting background to include month-end closing duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or Finance or equivalent experience; 4-8 years.
  • ISO 9001:2005 Internal Auditor.
  • Calculate, understand, and analyze earned value metrics (CPI, SPI, EAC, ETC).
  • Experience with CostPoint and Cognos Reporting.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project.
  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual thinking and documentation skills.
  • Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills.
