The Program Coordinator, AYA will serve as the primary point person for the Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Oncology Program at HUMC. In collaboration with key team members including the Medical Lead and Nurse Navigator, this role will grow and develop the program to identify needs and bridge care gaps for oncology patients in the age range of 15-39.

Requirements

  • BA/BS diploma/degree.
  • Minimum of 3 or more years work experience in a position requiring direct contact with people.
  • Strong attention to detail and customer service focus.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, and handle multiple deadline driven tasks in a dynamic environment is essential.
  • Excellent organizational, presentation, documentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office platforms.

Nice To Haves

  • Oncology experience.
  • Clinical Research experience.

Responsibilities

  • Works with Medical Lead and Nurse Navigator to develop program priorities, objectives and content.
  • Researches and identifies trends and needs as well as outside resources available to support patients.
  • Works with multidisciplinary staff groups including physicians, nurses, social workers and therapists to disseminate information about the program and increase engagement.
  • Assesses program outcomes, plans and conducts quality assurance reviews.
  • Develops and maintains grants database and generates reports as needed to evaluate progress of program.
  • Assists in writing grants to fund programs.
  • Works with the marketing team to promote the program and to develop marketing plans, newsletters and publications or other communications materials, and events planning.
  • Works with HMH teams to increase opportunities for social interaction of patients, such as use of social media and administrative/logistical planning of in person social events.
  • Serves as a key resource for program information.
  • Resolves problems or questions referred by staff.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
