Requirements Job Overview The Program Coordinator plays a pivotal role in planning and implementing programs that support students from diverse backgrounds who engage with the LGBTQ Resource Center. This role directly fosters identity formation, community building, and mattering and belonging across diverse stakeholders by promoting an intersectional approach to holistically supporting students, informed by an understanding of cultural work within the context of Jesuit higher education. Additionally, this role serves a key purpose within the LGBTQ Resource Center by: (1) coordinating the LGBTQ Resource Center administration and operations, supervision of student staff and interns (2) organizing and implementing programming (3) managing all marketing, digital accessibility, technology, and communication efforts for the LGBTQ Resource Center. Additional duties include, but are not limited to: Provides broad support for all educational programming of the Center, including but not limited to our signature programs: OUTober (LGBTQ History Month), Lavender Graduation Celebration, LGBTQ Alumni Mentorship Program, Speaker series, and other academic partnership programs. Collaborates and partners with other offices within the Division of Student Affairs and across campus during Orientation, Pre-Orientation programs; participates as staff in our work with Women’s Center, CMEA, DCC, and other offices and programs. Selects, trains, and supervises student staff (about 6-8 student interns annually) Creates, implements, and summarizes assessments and evaluations as needed. Supports with managing operational budget for programs Oversee administrative logistics, including but not limited to meals, space reservations, booking flights/hotels and supply orders. Work Interactions The Program Coordinator reports to the Director of the LGBTQ Resource Center and works closely with student interns (undergraduate and graduate) of the center. This role also has consistent interaction with alumni stakeholders and campus partners both academic and co-curricular. The Program Coordinator supports curricular and academic initiatives for student leadership growth and development and supports the Director around a broad array of services, programs, and resources to students and the campus community on LGBTQ-related issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 1-2 years of progressively responsible administrative work experience, Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Focus on and facility with intersectional equity, access, and justice practices in supporting both individual student and community formation
  • Familiarity and ease with best practices for student-facing office services, such as the ability to provide steady support and services with flexible and dynamic student needs; the ability to provide educationally-grounded feedback; and familiarity with the needs and priorities of students from historically underserved backgrounds
  • Team-oriented and able to work successfully in a matrixed environment with multiple accountability relationships
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong programming skills, including event planning and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain effective resource management systems, uphold and adapt procedures, and empower others to use resources effectively
  • Ability to appropriately prioritize and act proactively in a team environment
  • Understanding of cultural work within a Jesuit educational framework
  • Commitment to ongoing education and development regarding identity, culture, equity, justice, and other areas related to each cultural center, student affairs, and trends in higher education
  • Cultural competency with identities and cultures related to LGBTQ Resource Center, and commitment to ongoing learning, education, and development in LGBTQIA+ topics and gender equity
