Location 680 Lake Shore Drive Job Description General Summary: This role plays a key role in supporting the editorial, peer review and publication processes of the Journal of Health Advocacy (JHA), ensuring the production of high-quality, ethically sound academic content. Working closely with the Managing Editor and editorial team, this role assists with manuscript review and revision, peer review coordination, author communication, digital media development, and engagement with editorial and advisory boards. The Program Coordinator is an editorial assistant contributing to journal strategy, outreach, website optimization and operational support, helping to strengthen JHA’s visibility, credibility and impact as a leading academic journal. The Journal of Health Advocacy is a is a peer-reviewed open access journal that publishes health advocacy research, scholarship and perspectives focused on improving the health and well-being of individuals, communities, and populations through the dissemination of knowledge, resources and ideas that can be used to help individuals thrive. JHA is housed within the Patrick M. Magoon Institute of Healthy Communities at Lurie Children's. The Patrick M. Magoon Institute for Healthy Communities serves as the hub for all community-focused initiatives at Lurie Children’s. The Magoon Institute is responsible for aligning the Medical Center’s clinical, research, education and advocacy expertise with community engagement, while supporting people, programs and partnerships that advance community health and health equity.
