About The Position

MHA promotes mental health and total wellness for individuals facing challenges associated with mental illness and addiction recovery. We increase community awareness while enhancing mental well-being through advocacy, education, prevention, treatment, and services. MHA is seeking a full time Program Coordinator to join our Self Help, Advocacy, and Education (CAP) Program ! Be a part of the team that makes a difference in the lives of our consumers. Requirements

  • Individual must possess a Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field and a minimum of two years of work experience coordinating a volunteer program.
  • Must be flexible and available for evening and/or weekend activities, as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing.

Responsibilities

  • CAP/Social Club: Oversight of transporting passengers to consumer activities
  • Provide transportation to consumers, as needed.
  • Facilitating member interactions to promote self-help, mutual support and advocacy;
  • Scheduling and facilitation of self-help programs;
  • Researching community activities and compiling them into a monthly schedule of events for Social Club schedule;
  • Outreaching potential and current social club members to encourage attendance and arranging transportation to and from activities
  • Facilitating CAP member participation in boards and committees
  • Emphasizing and nurturing consumer’s self-advocacy initiative
  • Providing transportation to self-advocacy forums
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of consumer programs
  • Coordinating and scheduling transportation and routes for Community Rides
  • Assisting with the facilitation of monthly CAP membership meeting.
  • Manages and provides support to program drivers and volunteers, as needed.
  • Provides trainings and education to the community.
  • Attends tabling events, fairs, and all other events assigned by the Program Director.
  • Information and Referral: Provide ‘Information and Referral’ services.
  • Provide specialized information and referral and case advocacy assistance to MHA program consumers.
  • Community Companions: Overseeing the operation of the ‘Community Companions Program’, including recruiting volunteers, assessing readiness of consumers, matchmaking, record keeping and providing ongoing support to participants.
  • Recordkeeping and Reporting: Record keeping as required by funding sources through the electronic clinical record software, and/or accreditation agencies.
  • Must meet all expected productivity levels, in regard to direct service provision to consumers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.
