About The Position

The Program Design Director’s role focuses on maximizing UnboundEd's impact by aligning all product and program outcomes with the organization's overarching reach and efficacy goals. As Program Design Director, you continually refine content development goals and processes to ensure alignment with the UnboundEd vision, research base, and client needs. The Program Design Director works with peers to hold responsibility for ensuring a quality professional development experience for participants in our programs, products, and services. This position will also include training UnboundEd facilitators. Program Design Directors can expect 10% of their time to be allocated to direct facilitation work. This is a full-time, Exempt position. UnboundEd is a virtual organization, and this employee can be based anywhere in the United States. UnboundEd has core business hours, during which we expect all staff to be available from 9 am to 5 pm local time. Approximately 25% travel is required.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, or a related field is the minimum requirement; a Master's Degree in Education or Curriculum and Instruction is highly desirable. An equivalent blend of professional experience and formal training will be considered.
  • A prerequisite of five years of classroom and/or district-level experience is mandatory, with a preference for experience that includes content development, facilitation, and management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Content Development: Develop a full range of Leadership and/or ELA High Quality Professional Learning assets, including presentations, digital assets, articles, blog posts, and marketing content, leveraging both research and best practices in adult learning using the UnboundEd content creation process and style guide.
  • Research: Researches, selects, curates, and organizes resources around current trends in education and educational leadership.
  • Design Review: Ensures branding coherence and alignment, and reviews new and existing professional development content.
  • Content Evaluation: Works in alignment with the organizational outcome and contributes to the creation of event- or offering-specific surveys in collaboration with our internal data and research team.
  • Events: Observes, facilitates, and/or coaches during live events, keeping a keen eye on high-level trends, helping isolate and prioritize real-time feedback, and/or using trends to debrief with facilitators. Works across teams to support a positive and productive participant experience via assigned roles/tasks.
  • Facilitator Engagement: Creates and trains facilitators in content internalization, effective facilitative practices, and provides facilitators with partner context and/or nuances to content across lines of difference and various careholder roles (e.g., school-based and district-level coaches, administrators, system leaders, etc.).
  • Internal Learning. Plan and deliver professional development experiences for staff that are coherent and connected to the organizational mission.
  • Cross-functional deliverables: Coordinates and supports the efforts of other UnboundEd departments to further the mission of the organization.
  • Other related duties and projects as assigned.
